Somos and Nosotros?

What is the difference between Nosotros, nos and somos? They all mean 'we' but is there a difference when and where to use?

Thanks!

thank you very much! it has definitely helped a lot =)

Firstly, 'somos' is part of the verb 'ser' (to be) and means 'we are'.

Secondly, 'nosotros' is the first person plural personal pronoun meaning 'we', so to be completely correct, you should write 'nosotros somos' for 'we are', but the verb ending tells us that it is the 'we' form, so it is not always written with the pronoun.

Lastly, 'nos' is the indirect object pronoun meaning 'to us', so that we can have 'Nos gusta la musica' meaning ´to us is enjoyable the music - we like the music'.

I am not a teacher, but if I have misinformed you, I hope someone will be along to correct me!
