The Lenguajero team has been studying Spanish really hard for about one year now. During this time we have come across a number of excellent "Learn Spanish" resources. We have personally used all the resources we recommend and find them to be outstanding.
SpanishPod - this learn Spanish podcast series has something to offer students at any level. You can listen to the podcasts for free, and if you choose to you can purchase worksheets, lessons, and other study material.
LoMasTv - is our favorite place to learn Spanish while listening to great
Spanish language music. The player that you watch the videos on has Spanish and English captions (that you can turn on or off), pitch-correct slow play, and while you’re listening you can add new words to a flashcard program in one-click.
Notes In Spanish - Ben and Marina discuss anything and everything on this great podcast series. The series is broken into Inspired Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced. As Ben and Marina live in Spain the podcasts tend to have more of a focus on Spanish culture and slang (as opposed to Latin American). The Intermediate and Advanced podcasts are exceptionally fantastic.
RadioLingua: Show Time Spanish - A great set of podcasts and worksheets that look at the different Spanish dialects from around the world. The podcasts are free, and you can choose to pay for extras like transcripts, lessons, etc.
Great for beginners!
Voices en Español is a bilingual blog and conversational Spanish podcast. The blog posts are filled with great tips for independent learners, and the podcast series has excellent situational conversations, short stories, and other excellent listening exercises.
BBC Mundo Podcast – I get my daily news in a quick ‘n easy 15 minute Spanish format. It's a great way to keep on top of what is going on in the world and practice Spanish at the same time.
(Note: They are cramming all the day’s news into 15 minutes, so they can talk pretty quick sometimes. Don’t be intimidated, if you stick with it for a few weeks you’ll be amazed at how much easier it becomes.)
Harry Potter – It was fantastic in English, and when you read it in Spanish you feel way less guilty about how you are spending your time (it’s educational). So aside from being a great read, the language is at a pretty basic level, it has lots of action, and it never gets boring.
Cody's Cuentos is a fantastic series of classic children's fairytales read out loud in Spanish. Whether you are teaching your kids Spanish, or just want to listen to some classics from your youth this is a fantastic resource.
